I’m making prostate cancer history.

My Long Run!

It was two years ago that I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. It’s a confronting whack that changes so many things. The love and support of family, friends and health professionals is what makes the battle possible.  🫶


I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be part of a clinical trial and so far things are going extremely well. Clinical trials don’t just happen, they are the culmination of years of research and tens of millions of dollars. There are lots of wonderful advances taking place, but more is needed to stop prostate cancer being the biggest cancer killer of men.


I've been shedding the kg's (15 so far!) and am ready to smash out the km's in September! Bring it on!!


I'm aiming to achieve two fitness milestones in September:
1) Walking 100 km on a 10% gradient on a treadmill.... this will actually take me up 10 km, which is higher than Everest!   ⛰️

2) Climb 10,000 steps on a step climber.... this will be similiar to going up steps from the sea to the top of Kosciuszko!

Why the uphill challenge? I'm certainly facing an uphill battle and it's my way of trying to take it head on  :) I guess it's also part of my DNA to climb, in that there must be a reason my ancestors were called "Hill"!
