Doing it for my Dad

This September for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I’m giving it all I’ve got by taking part in The Long Run.

Prostate cancer is Australia’s leading cause of cancer, with 79 men newly diagnosed every day.

I’m running for my beautiful Dad Noel. 

Dad was diagnosed with Gleason 8, Advanced prostate cancer in 2018. Since then he has undergone radiation, many operations, participated in trials, countless medications & He’s currently on hormone therapy to help keep his PSA levels down. Unfortunately dad’s cancer has spread to his lymph nodes which they are unable to remove. Dad will forever fight this prostate beast. But dad is the strongest man I know. He is my hero. I’m so incredibly proud of him and the fight he puts in every day. He wakes up with a smile on his face and love for life.

I can’t do much to help dad other than love and support him. But if running 72km to help raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and help other men like my dad I’ll give it everything I’ve got.
