I’m making prostate cancer history.
Final tally
I’m taking on The Long Run, 13 days in.
This September for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I’m giving it all I’ve got by taking part in The Long Run. I can't run anymore but walk and exercise instead.
Prostate cancer hit me when I was 52, and the treatment I got was radiation. Looked like it was working but 12 months and the blood tests were increasing again, not enough to do 8.5 weeks of that.
Next step was androgen deprivation, and after 10 years, that is not enough so daralutemide tablets daily and that is helping.
But the side effects include calcium deficiency, and bone density dropped even with supplements. Had 3 molars removed Wednesday so I can go on Prolia injections too, bones don't heal as well once on that.
So, longevity can be there despite active cancer, if you stay positive and fight to survive! It helps having a family and community that supports you while you support them through their own life challenges.
Will you donate to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and help end the pain of prostate cancer? Together, we can make prostate cancer history, and support other cancer therapies too.
Thank you. 💙🙏
