Man flu has well and truly put me on my arse 🤒😂
I’m still going to endeavour to clock up the full 72kms for The Long Run, but please bear with me 🙏
The Nubeqa side effects can affect my immune system, so what might normally be a fairly mild flu has absolutely depleted me this time around.
A trip to ED and blood tests have thankfully come back looking good, so now it’s just rest, recovery and getting myself back on my feet.
The 72kms might take me a little longer than planned, but I’ll get there 💪🏼

“It’s a Slow Burn” — Living with High-Risk Prostate Cancer
I’ve been involved with The Long Run since 2022, and for me it’s far more than just a fundraising event. I was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer at 45, and my journey has involved surgery, radiation, hormone therapy and ongoing treatment. Without a doubt, the support and advocacy of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) has helped change what my future looks like. I’m now living with advanced prostate cancer, but thanks in part to the work of PCFA and access to my medication through the PBS, I’m still here, still working, still travelling and still making plans with the people I love. In many ways, I’m being kept alive because research, advocacy and organisations like PCFA have made these treatments accessible — and that’s exactly why I keep doing The Long Run.
September, is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I am going to give it my all by taking part in The Long Run.
Prostate cancer is Australia’s leading cause of cancer, with 79 men newly diagnosed every day.
