I’m making prostate cancer history.
I’m taking on The Long Run
This September for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I’m taking part in The Long Run.
Prostate cancer is Australia’s leading cause of cancer, with 72 men newly diagnosed every day. Both my father and grandfather have been diagnosed and successfully treated for prostate cancer thanks to early detection via a PSA test.
A simple PSA blood test is all it takes to be screened for Prostate Cancer. Highlighting the importance, RACGP is considering updating their guidelines for PSA tests to every 2 years from the age for 50-69, or from 40 if you are of increased familial risk. I urge you to ask your husband, brother, father, son, uncle, nephew or any male to get the check. It could save their life.
