I’m taking on The Long Run
This September for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I’m taking part in The Long Run.
Prostate cancer is Australia’s leading cause of cancer, with 72 men newly diagnosed every day.
It's personal for me; I was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 12 months ago and, with careful management by my urologist, I will have surgery in early 2025. But other men aren't so fortunate.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare data shows deaths from prostate cancer have risen by around 30% since 2007, with more than 3,900 Australian men expected to die from this cancer this year.
