I’m making prostate cancer history.

30 Sep 25 - Still Surviving

So at 81 years with double knee transplants and 39 Radiotherapy sessions this year with I have an estimated 80% survival probability. Aggressive Gleason 9 Prostate Cancer. 'Enjoying' the side effects of ongoing Androgen Deprivation Therapy - NOT!!

I have achieved my financial and distance targets, the latter at the walking speed of an 81 year old dehydrated snail.

So like so many of us (72 a day) I await my first post treatment PSA this November.

I am 81 and take great comfort from being able to participate in theLONGrun.

Felt like sharing my story. Despite all of this I am still going 'strong'. I have a wonderful wife who has stood and still stands with me.
 Diagnosed with aggressive Prostate Cancer which seemed not to have spread. 39 Radiotherapy sessions in Feb-Mar this year and having the dreaded ADT, 3 monthly implants.
Specific challenges have been two knee replacements, back pain, right hip pain....
I do 2 heavy weights, ex Physio session per week to ward off side effects.
I am a Vietnam Vet (RAAF Chopper Pilot), with chronic, medicated and ongoing depression. I see a Psychologist and Psychiatrist,  both at four week intervals.
My upside is that my mental faculty remains strong.
so to all that read this keep on trucking.

PS. Forgot lost an eye to a melanoma at age 27 in 1972 and sadly that ended my flying career.
