The Long Run 2023 – Terms and Conditions 

Terms and Conditions 

The Long Run (the ‘Event’) is an initiative of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (“PCFA”) to raise funds to support men and their families impacted by prostate cancer. 

The Event opens on 10 July 2023 and ends on 30 September 2023.  

By registering for the Event, the participant or the parent/guardian of a participant under 18 years, acknowledges and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 

 

  1. General:
    1. The decision to participate in the Event is entirely your own and you take full responsibility for any consequence of your participation in the Event for yourself and/or your participants.

      b. Any content you post to the website (e.g. photos and text) is your responsibility, and you must have the necessary rights to post that content (including the consent of others who feature in the content). PCFA retains the right to delete any content posted. 
    2. You acknowledge that PCFA reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of the Event at any time.

 

  1. Fundraising:
    1. You acknowledge that by registering for the Event, you pledge to raise funds for PCFA and follow our Community Fundraising Guidelines.
    2. All fundraising conducted for this Event comes under PCFA’s authority to fundraise in the respective State or Territory in Australia and you agree to be bound by the relevant state and national fundraising legislation
    3. PCFA can refund a donation made in error. If you wish to request a refund, please contact PCFA via thelongrun@pcfa.org.au.  
  2. Privacy:
    1. PCFA respects and is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information it collects.
    2. PCFA will collect your personal information and any other information you may volunteer so that we can: administer and conduct the Event; and keep you informed about PCFA, its fundraising activities and the important work you are supporting.
    3. PCFA may use your image, name and challenge result in any promotion relating to this Event, including in the leader boards and/or on the Event website.

  1. Prizes:
    1. To be eligible for any prizes, you must be an Australia resident who is registered as an individual participant at thelongrun.org.au for the 2023 Long Run event, from 10 July 2023.
    2. Prizes cannot be redeemed or exchanged for any other products.
    3. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
    4. PCFA accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred to enter the competition or in connection with taking up the prizes.
    5. Prizes will be shipped by standard post to the winners at mailing addresses supplied upon registration, or where possible, emailed to the email used for registration. Shipping may be subject to delays.
    6. Once prizes have left the prize supplier’s premises, we take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
    7. Prizes are subject to availability and PCFA reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
    8. All participants who meet promotion criteria will be automatically entered into a prize draw or be eligible for the promotion. Only one entry will be entered per prize per participant.
    9. The promoter will not be responsible for any other costs associated with the prizes.
    10. Winners of any prize draws will be drawn at random on 6 October 2023 at PCFA Office at Level 8, 1 Chandos St, St Leonards NSW 2065. Winners will be notified by phone and email by 10 October 2023. The winner of each prize draw will be the first name drawn at random.
    11. If a prize is unclaimed, a redraw will take place on 29 October 2023 at the same location as the original draw, with winners notified by 2 November 2023. The winners of any redraw will be notified by phone and email.
    12. Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter is Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Limited (ABN 42 073 253 924) as Trustee for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (ABN 31 521 774 656).
    13. Employees of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, their immediate families, and any companies and agencies associated with the promotion are not eligible to enter.
    14. To be eligible for any of the below promotions, participants must adhere to the terms and conditions above as well as outlined below:
      1. The first 500 Long Run 2023 participants to reach $250 raised on their individual fundraising page at thelongrun.org.au will receive a 2023 Long Run t-shirt. The shirt will be sent to the Australian address entered on registration.*
         
        * Size options are UNISEX, which participants can select on registration. The t-shirt size cannot be changed once it has been ordered and sent. Sizes and stock availability can vary and PCFA will make every reasonable effort to supply a t-shirt closest to the size indicated at registration.  
         
  2. Final Conditions
PCFA takes no liability for any tax issues which may arise from accepting a prize in this competition. Consult an independent tax adviser if this is a concern. 

It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements. 

Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, PCFA (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal or permanent injury or loss of life; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion. 

PCFA assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alterations of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including, but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of PCFA which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, PCFA reserves the right in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. Subject to state regulations. 

All details of the entrants will be used and preserved in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles and PCFA Privacy Policy. Entrants consent to their full names and/or their entries being used in all media by PCFA.

  1. Authority to Fundraise

    a) Agreement to these terms and conditions gives the registered Long Run participant authority to fundraise in support of the work of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) for the following fundraising event: 
    1. Event: The Long Run
    2. Date of Event: 1 September 2023 – 30 September 2023
    3. Location: Online
    4. Dates of fundraising authority: 10 July 2023 – 31 October 2023
