Dad
On September 3rd, I’ll be taking part in “The Long Run” - a community charity event supporting research into prostate cancer treatment and patient support within Australia. The aim is to run 🏃♀️, walk 🚶♀️or wheel 🚴 72km across the entire month of September. As an avid hater of running.. and a huge lover of cycling, I felt the best physical challenge for me would be to walk 72km within a 24 hour period.
Despite being diagnosed on his 60th birthday, Dad remained positive throughout his journey and is in remission thanks to the world class treatment and care he received here in Brisbane.
Financial donations to my fundraising page will of course be welcomed with much love and appreciation, however I would also really appreciate the company of anyone who wants to join me for any part of my walk (Bring coffee, sour worms and fun music for the UE Boom playlist)! Route will start at Kangaroo Point heading to Scarborough, and return.
Prostate Cancer is Australia’s leading cause of cancer, with 66 men newly diagnosed every day and an average of 10 deaths every day. Like any cancer or chronic illness, ongoing research and awareness is absolutely vital!
Thank you for your support, I look forward to walking with you xo
